EA Supreme Omega Oil is a complementary feed for horses as part of a balanced diet for the nutritional support of a glossy coat, healthy skin, digestive health, joint mobility and immune system.
Supreme Omega Oil represents a perfectly weighted blend of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA’s) omega 3,6,7 and 9. Scientifically crafted to provide an excellent omega 3/6 ratio of 3.7:1, this oil is also highly palatable and derived from vegetarian rather than marine sources.
Supreme Omega Oil is born out of the need to provide modern competition horses with a high-quality ratio of essential fatty acids rich in omega 3, a nutrient often lacking in the horse’s diet due to over usage of cereals and dried forages.
Of significance, omega 3 fatty acids are known to support a number of health and performance enhancing processes in the body. Some of the more notable areas of health include improving mobility and enhancing a shiny coat. Flax oil provides 4 x as much omega 3 (in the form of alpha linolenic acid) as omega 6 and this makes it one of the richest sources available. Furthermore, flax oil is believed to be one of the most palatable sources of omega 3 available.
Omega 6 fatty acids also play a sizable contribution to health, involved in producing a number of chemicals. However, too much omega 6 in the diet by way of cereal and dry forage can be detrimental and that’s where the balance of these omega fats is key. Supreme Omega Oil has been expertly created to provide the optimal blend of all essential fats.
Supreme Omega Oil also provides a small amount of rice bran oil which provides gamma oryzanol, a nutrient noted for it’s significant antioxidant activity.
Coconut oil has also been added for its highly palatable nature and to provide extra energy, whilst providing low levels of omega 6. Coconut oil also provides a source of omega 9 (olieic acid), and whilst the role for this type of fat is not well understood in horses, in other species, it has been shown to help with regulating sugar levels.
Finally, Seabuckthorn oil has been included for it’s various source of vitamins, minerals and beneficial plant compounds including flavonoids and other antioxidants, thought to be one of very few plants containing omega’s 3,6,7 and 9.
Vitamin E and rosemary are also provided as antioxidants to preserve activity of omega’s 3,6,7 and 9.
